First off, I will say that I like Subversion. I am actually a big fan of
Tortoise SVN and love the way it integrates directly into the filesystem and helps developers manage shared code versioning. That being said, I work in a world where development shops need more than what Subversion, CVS, PVCS, and their version control cousins can manage. The clients I deal with have usually outgrown these types of version control tools and are needing a greater level of enterprise Change and Release management that is difficult or impossible to achieve with version control tools.
